| Title: Death Note Vol.2 |
Publisher: Shonen Jump
Light thinks that he can end his troubles with the FBI, by using the Death Note to kill the FBI agents that are working the case in Japan! But what Light does not know is that one of the agents fiancee who use to work with the bureau and L. Now she has uncovered some information that could possibly get Light captured. Will Light use the Death Note towards her or let her live? What makes matters worse is that L is coming out of the shadows to earn the trust and work with the agents, who are on the task force, leaded by Lights father. With people pursuing him in every direction, will Light get caught?
This second volume brings the readers further in to the tense world created by Light's near-psychosis and L's very similar obsession in trying to stop him. Both show signs of suffering from paranoia and the paranoid world starts to get to the reader after a while. Death Note is dark in a very unique way that really gets under the reader's skin. I had to stop reading it a couple of time just to get myself out of that world for a little while. As L narrows his list of subjects down, Light himself begins to wonder if L isn't actually on to him. Even though the readers know the truth it is still a dark, paranoid world that we find ourselves immersed in.
